Allison</a></b> teaches planning and historic preservation at the Pratt Institute, and is a principal of the <a  href=\"http://www.allisongroup.com/ericwallison/\">Allison Group international consultancy</a>.  He is the founder of Pratt's historic preservation program, and has written widely on historic preservation and related topics.  He is also the author of books in diverse other fields including <i>Through the Valley of Death</i> (1983) and <i>Managing Up, Managing Down</i>, both coauthored with his wife <a href=\"http://shimercollege.wikia.com/wiki/Mary_Ann_Allison\" title=\"Mary Ann Allison\">Mary Ann Allison</a>, and <i>Raiders of Wall Street</i> (1999). He is a graduate of <a href=\"http://shimer.edu\">Shimer College</a>, and holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
