William David Thomas

I started writing for young people thanks to baseball (that’s a long story). My first book, published in 2005, was a biography of Aung San Suu Kyi, the now-imprisoned democracy activist from Myanmar. More non-fiction books followed until, in 2012, I switched to writing middle-grade fiction.

When I’m not writing, I like to spend time with family and friends, read, watch baseball, play my guitar and sing, go hiking and camping, and daydream. Although daydreaming is, I believe, an important part of the writing process.

I grew up and still live in Rochester, New York, not far from the shore of Lake Ontario. My wife and I have three adult children and three grandchildren. -https://www.williamdavidthomas.com/about-me
