Robert Brown

English botanist, noted for his investigation into the impregnation of plants. Served as naturalist on HMS `Investigator' 1801-1803, on its voyage to the Dutch East Indies and Australia, and was librarian to Sir Joseph Banks 1810-1812, and later was with the British Museum.-https://tiaki.natlib.govt.nz/#details=ethesaurus.79302
