In 1956, he published *The Desert Bighorn Sheep in Arizona*. His published recommendations are still used in bighorn management. His also led to Arizona's first legal bighorn sheep hunt in 1953.\r\n\r\nIn 1956 he transferred to northern Arizona to become the Kaibab North deer biologist.
