Guillermo Cabrera Infante

Guillermo Cabrera Infante (Gibara, 22 de abril de 1929 – 21 de febrero de 2005) fue un novelista, ensayista, traductor, guionista y crítico cubano. En la década de 1950 utilizó el seudónimo Guillermo Caín. Si bien en el pasado apoyó al régimen de Castro, Cabrera Infante se exilió en Londres en 1965. Es conocido principalmente por la novela Tres Tristes Tigres. Recibió el Premio Cervantes en 1997.


Guillermo Cabrera Infante (Gibara, 22 April 1929 – 21 February 2005) was a Cuban novelist, essayist, translator, screenwriter, and critic; in the 1950s he used the pseudonym Guillermo Caín. A one-time supporter of the Castro regime, Cabrera Infante went into exile to London in 1965. He is best known for the novel Tres Tristes Tigres (literally: "three sad tigers", published in English as Three Trapped Tigers). He received the Cervantes Prize in 1997.
